Work on paper
paint on paperDescription from the artist:
“When I was making my “Grey Paintings”, around 1997, I would scrape the surfaces with various palette knives to get a smooth human surface, and then use what was on the knives to make works on paper. The marks on the paper were made chronologically, and based purely on how the paint sat on the knife blade, and therefore have a randomness, which I see as the underbelly of the paintings."
